SONG MINHO Wins the Discovery of the Year (Hip Hop) Award [Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards]

SONG MINHO won the Discovery of the Year (Hip Hop) Award at the 2016 Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards.

On February 17, the fifth Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards was held at the Olympic Hall in Bangi-dong, Seoul. The emcees were Leeteuk of Super Junior and Yura of Girl’s Day.
After receiving the award, SONG MINHO said, “Last year, all WINNER members came, but it feels different this year as there’s only me.”

The 2016 Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards has no grand prize and its awards are given on a monthly and quarterly basis. It has 17 categories including Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Composer of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, Mobile Vote Popularity Award and New Media Platform.

All the tickets to the fifth Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards were sold out in less than a minute after ticket sales opened.

Meanwhile, Red Velvet, Mad Clown, Miss A, Bangtan Boys, Baek A-yeon, B.A.P, BIGBANG, Seventeen, So Chan-Whee, SONG MINHO, Super Junior, PSY, iKON, AOA, EXO, MC Mong, Girl Friend, Lee Ae-ran, Zion. T, Zico, Taeyun, and Hyukoh attended the fifth Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards.
